Which coating system should I choose?

Choose by how long you will keep the car and where it is parked. The 9-year system suits a car you are keeping that lives outside. The 1-year system suits a car you plan to sell soon.

Can a new car be ceramic coated?

Yes, and it is a good time to do it. New cars still pick up marks in transport and at the dealer, so we inspect the paint and polish where needed first.

Does a ceramic coating stop scratches and stone chips?

It resists fine wash marks and light swirls. It is a thin hard layer, not a thick film, so a stone chip or a deep scratch will still reach the paint.

How the 1, 5 and 9 year systems differ

All three are nano-ceramic coatings that bond to the clear coat. They differ in how thick the layer is and how long it protects before it needs renewing.

1 year. A single layer for a car you plan to sell soon or a lease you want to hand back in good order.
5 years. A thicker build for most daily drivers.
9 years. Our Signature system and the thickest build, for a car you plan to keep or one parked outside.

What the coating does in Malta

Strong sun oxidises bare clear coat and fades dark colours. Salt air near the coast and fine dust land on the paint every day. A cured coating resists UV, salt, bird droppings and tree sap for long enough that you can wash them off before they mark the paint.

The surface reaches a 9H hardness rating and a water contact angle above 110°. Water beads and rolls off and carries loose dirt with it, so the car stays cleaner between washes.

How we apply it

Every coating goes on in our dust-controlled studio. Most of the work is preparation, because the coating seals in whatever is on the paint.

Hand wash and chemical decontamination to remove iron fallout and tar
Clay treatment to lift bonded contamination
Machine polishing to remove swirls and oxidation
Panel wipe to strip polishing oils so the coating can bond
Coating applied and levelled one panel at a time
Final inspection under studio lighting

Aftercare

The coating keeps curing after you collect the car. Keep it dry where you can and do not wash it until we say it is safe. We give you the date at handover.

After that, wash with a pH-neutral shampoo and a clean mitt, and dry with a soft microfibre towel. Avoid brush car washes, which scratch the coating and the paint under it. Do not leave the car to dry in direct sun, because the water leaves spots.

Keeping the coating at its best

The top of the coating wears slowly with every wash. Our maintenance plans use a coating-safe, pH-neutral wash, and the higher plans add SiO₂ top-ups and an annual coating inspection to keep the water beading strong.
